I'm Frank Fencepost. I've been tattooing since Dec. 7th, 2000. I
started out in Vancouver, WA (my hometown) and over the last several
years, I've tattooed in many places including Seattle, parts of
Oregon, California, Idaho, Wisconsin, Buffalo NY, Atlanta, and now
Tulsa. I think working in so many diverse environments has helped me
develop a greater understanding of the many styles of American
tattooing. It's certainly helped me meet a lot of people, and whether
I had good or not-so-good interactions with those people, it was
always a learning experience.
I decided to settle here in Tulsa mostly based on the law banning
tattooing. I felt that it would be good for me to be involved in
helping people here get a decent tattoo regardless of the current
legislation. I strongly believe that everyone is entitled to a good
tattoo, and if their state's lawmakers are too ignorant to allow that,
then certain "renegade" tattooists should take it upon themselves to
help.
(Yes, I know how dramatic that all sounds. Trust me, it's made me
laugh more than once. But this is essentially an issue of personal
freedoms, of the ability of each citizen to make their own decisions
in matters regarding their own bodies- in many ways reminiscent of the
Roe v. Wade case- not an issue of safety or health as certain state
representatives have said on more than one occasion.)
After working for several shops in the Tulsa area, I felt I could make
a stronger impact on the local community by creating my own
professional working environment. Hence was born Lucky Lady Tattoo. We
hope you'll visit us, get tattooed by us, and join our
steadily-growing dysfunctional family!
Remember, WE DON'T TALK SHIT... we just do good tattoos. We gauge our
success based on the amount of gossip, rumors, and backstabbing thrown
at us by other shops. By that standard, we're already a huge success! |
